About Naomi Friesen
BA, RMT, ERYT200
To move and feel better in your body and life – this is my goal for you. Through Clinical Yoga & Pilates (Balanced Motion Therapy) and Massage Therapy, let’s enjoy the journey together. I am humbled and honoured to serve you in your wellness goals!
For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep curiosity and love for how the body moves best. I dare say, it is my passion. I am a deep believer in community – community with other humans, community of the heart, community within our own bodies! Our whole cannot be well if one part is neglected.
My treatment approach is a unique blend of reminding your musculoskeletal system and nervous system to work together to move in a more balanced way –– through Balanced Motion Therapy, let’s coax your body towards full potential. With a variety of massage techniques, we will relieve pain, discomfort and restriction. My aim is to guide you back to function, and get you back to moving with freedom and ease.
My massage style incorporates Myofascia Release, passive range of motion & active range of motion while releasing the restricted tissue, Trigger Point Pressure Release, General Swedish Massage and joint mobilization. I use a moderate to deep pressure, but do not go deep just for the sake of sensation. I see tissue manipulation as a conversation, not an edict to be pronounced on the body! We will get the job done. I look forward to working with you on your health and wellness journey!
Health and Wellness Career History
In 1996, I earned my credentials as a Personal Trainer, and opened a studio where I focused on rehabilitative, one on one training and lifestyle / weight management. I created and taught a 12 week lifestyle and weight management course and book which paved the path for many of my clients to achieve the fitness and health they desired.
In 1999, I achieved certification as a STOTT Certified Pilates Instructor. In 2007, I added Yoga Instructor to my education roster.
The decades of experience gained by teaching students how to move and feel better in their bodies lead me to my studies to become an RMT in 2014. Upon passing the College Board Exam, I opened my practice on Vancouver Island. I had the privilege of growing the clinic I founded and owned, Eden Therapy, into a thriving practice which serves the Comox Valley still. Eden Therapy received the “Best of Comox Valley” award for massage therapy clinics in 2020. In the fall of 2021, I sold Eden Therapy and moved to beautiful Kelowna to live near family. Gosh, I love it here! The arid climate reminds me of my university years in Southern California and feels like home.
Thank you for considering me as a member of your health care team.
About Jasmine Marsh
RMT
I am here to help you connect with your body and assist with healing in whatever way that is for you. Currently I am excited about working with the mind-body connection, stress related concerns and prenatal/postnatal patients. Although, I love working on all people with varied concerns.
I am passionate about health and wellness and like to integrate many areas of whole-body healing into a treatment. I have been an RMT since 2018 and am constantly learning, growing, and developing.
After being away for the last 4 years, I am excited to be back in my hometown of Kelowna, with my husband, daughter, and dog.
As for booking, please keep in mind I do have a young child, and sometimes will have to cancel/reschedule appointments last minute due to childcare, sickness and everything that goes along with being a parent! I do appreciate the patience.
Schedule is now open, with availability starting in April!
